Welcome to Howick Central Public School! We are a midsize rural elementary school serving the region of Howick Township, including the villages of Fordwich, Wroxeter, and Gorrie. We provide a supportive learning environment for junior kindergarten to grade 8 students. We are situated in the community of Howick on a large parcel of land that offers plenty of playground equipment and green space including the Sanderson Trail. We are conveniently located next to the Howick Arena and library.
Howick is a community school with heart. We have an active school council and a community that supports us without hesitation. Many of our students have parents and grandparents who are proud of past Howick Hurricanes! Students are at the centre of our approach to teaching and learning and our decision-making and we hold high expectations of student learning, leadership, participation, and behaviour. Our goal is to make sure that our students feel that they matter and belong and we strive to focus on the positive. Our school motto is Do the Right Thing.
